About
Ruby Quest: Undertow was a project to recreate TG Weaver's "Ruby Quest" in an interactive game format with the project being headed by artist / writer Fidchell, programmed by Gibmaker, and with music compsed by The Judge, Nitrosparxx and KeepListen. Development has been tracked back to having been begun in 2014, the development cycle of the game lasting for roughly four years before development on the game was shut down due to the engine (RPG Maker XP) reaching its limits with the project, and inner team turmoil.
Along with the cancellation of development however, the team released the "final build" of the game which while buggy, was able to be functional up to half way through the planned size of the game giving the player a couple hours of gameplay. Alongside this, the game itself was open sourced with assets included from the game itself, and also external assets such as sketches for unfinished rooms, HD designs for logos and such, etc.
With the level of content that was made and released for Undertow, I feel like it was worth my time to give this game it's own page yet again, and hopefully make it more accessable to download instead of having to dive through unofficial Gamejolt reuploads due to the official download now being a dead link.
The game itself plays as an isometrical survival horror, having to complete puzzle elements through several series of backtracking through out the facility while trying to survive horrifically mutated monsters who seek to tear you apart. The last build of Undertow takes at average a few hours to complete, in which no proper ending was built for the final build so you'll end up softlocked. Keep in mind the current state of the game is also somewhat buggy due to the limitations of RPG Maker XP and other turmoils the dev team faced.

Download
- The download contains both the game, and it's development content which includes the project file for RPG
Maker XP, assets for said project file, and extra art assets.
Please keep in mind that the files for these work only on Windows, and if you're on another operating
system, you might need to emulate Windows using something like Wine to play Undertow. Also don't mind the
ads on the download page too much, I'm not trying to spend too much of my money on hosting so I'm going with
the free upload for mediafire.

Quick Notice
While this game is practically open source and free for the taking, I'd still suggest crediting the original team who worked on Undertow if you do wish to use any of the assets for your own projects. I, the Webmaster of WeaverQuestz don't own anything relating to Ruby Quest Undertow, I just wanted to get this project back up there and more accessable even if in the end it was left unfinished.
In memoriam of Felix, "The Judge". I don't know a lot about him but I know he meant a lot to his family, friends and the communities he was in. Rest well.
